Dark Light

The absence of light creates darkness. Darkness is not an object by itself but the presence of it creates the fear.

The world is changing more than we know it to be. The moments of joy are dulled by the gloom of death and destruction around us. There is so much hate in the world today that people are questioning the basic fabric of humanity.

I don't worry of their doubt, what I worry about is their silence. Like darkness exists only in the absence of light. Hate grows in the absence of love, war happens in the absence of peace. Murder happens in the absence of life.

We as the good people of society witness the brutality and hurt around us but what do we do? We stand and witness what happens around us without any action and do not act upon it to make a difference.

I see videos of the Taliban killing people. They were shooting at random and killing the innocent people, they have no soul to connect with. Their understanding of humanity is dull and dead. There is no glory in death and killing but do they understand this?

Looking at a closer distance, in our neighbourhood, we see people going through difficult times and yet we only stand as spectators to the event of their suffering. There is no remorse in our souls when we see the sufferings in our vicinity. Our selfish ego rides the surface to limit our action to the ones we love not to the soul we connect to.

Did we ever stop to ask ourselves why does this happen?

Times have been the same since the dawn of mankind or atleast what we have a recollection of history. Wars have been the passtime of many leaders and emperors. Murder and mayhem has always been society's mistress. Why are we making a hue and cry about it now?

The difference is obviously in the discovery of better modes and means of communication. The news of the death and ability of the damned are spread like wild fire through various mediums of communication, television, radio, internet and even mobile phones. We have come to day when we know everything that we are given to know in the shortest possible time.

The killing of an individual was only verbal news till about a few years ago but now has become a spectacle for us to witness and that is making a difference. But all these differences will be of no use until we take a stand to unite and curb the menace.

The difference of eliminating darkness is to spread light. To go into these areas and share the understanding of humanity and not religion. To share the capital and not the masses. To reach out to the ailing and not to kill them.

We will need to make a choice to make a change, only then can we see the light over come the darkness....

Thoughts and Actions

"A day of thought can be provoking as long as we make it an action."

I sit in my room with my gaze on the sky. Looking through the window the sky doesnt look the same as sitting under an open sky.

The clouds pass by and the trees whistle the air. The morning sun is bright and hot with no future to be bothered of. The noise of the breeze seems to be loud and clear. I wonder how the nature is in its being so casual and calm in it daily work.

There never seems to be an urgency to where and when the rains will fall, the sun will shine, the clouds get together or how the moon will look tonight. We are just admirers of the beauty that be.

The thoughts in our mind are the same, they come when the feel like and they idle away when they please. No matter how hard we try, the thoughts are always provoked to come to us when we least expect it. It could be an idea, a retrospect of events gone by or just a thought of tomorrow to come. What it is will never depend on what we expect or will to be. Its just there.

What happens to these thoughts? How are we to explore them and make positive use of these thoughts?

A new form of thought then comes to mind of what we are to do with them.

A simple formula, not proven by science yet but a work in progress towards meeting our thoughts.

  • List your thoughts on a paper and keep a track of it
  • Make a chart of what you think of in the time your thoughts get to you.
  • Focus on the positive thoughts and let go of the negative
  • Please yourself with the positive thoughts by turning them into actions.

Remember we are only keeping positive thoughts to make it an action.

Track your actions
  • Are my thoughts possible to action?
  • What do you do to make your thought an action?
  • How do I begin?
  • What are my hurdles to progress? How can I over come them?

With these simple steps we learn how to channelise our thoughts and action the positive thoughts in our mind to better ourselves.

Understanding Who am I?

In continuation to my last post of who am I? I have come to realise my true self and my nature. My purpose and my goal.

How did I become so clear in my thoughts and my actions?

There is a way for all of us to understand who we are and why are we here on earth. What was the mission we chose to take when we took birth in the wombs of our mothers. What is the message we are to deliver to the world?

It took me a few years, but I think I managed to get an understanding my simple forms of knowledge and practice being put together and churning out the fog in my head about myself. Also, with a lot of divine help and guidance there was clarity in what I was supposed to do.

I would like to share with you my experience of what I went through to reach the state in which I am:

First Step (Peter Pointer): Change your surroundings
You can never be different unless you have a new place to be in. If the house/ apartment/ flat that you live in has been your place of residence for a long time. You may have to think of moving away from the place. Due to our energy being spoilt in the place we need to move away from the place in order to start the cleansing. As an example: How is the water in a swimming pool filtered. It is sucked away from the main pool, into a filtration system and then pumped back all clean into the pool. The process helps keep the impurities away from the pool and also cleans the pool.

In the same process, we have to detach our selves from the area where we were living with bad energy. Rejuvenate ourselves and when we have strengthened our bodies and our soul, we may make a choice of going back to the same place again to continue with our new found self.

Second Step (Middle Finger): Let go of your status
I don't think i really understood this statement till I actually understood it. To let go of ones status is to let go of all that you do without having the need to sneak back at it ever again. I let go of my status as a smoker and drinker in January 2014. Since then, I have not looked back or uttered a request to have a smoke or drink. It was my mind that helped me change my ways and my status. I am now a non-smoker and dont have any alcohol. Its been 9 months and counting.

Third Step (Ring Finger): Choose new associations.
This is the most difficult of all. We have had friends all our lives and we chose to have them as a part of our lives. In the process we did not know who are the vampires and who are the nightingales. There was no clarity of who is who and how we could understand if the association was a good or bad one.

While cleansing ourselves, we need to associate ourselves with new people. People who will not hold us for our past and make judgement based on our past actions. We need to be associated with people who will make a choice with our present. The same like minded people who are cleansed or undergoing the process of cleansing. This will help us better in our process of cleansing. How? When we are associated with the same thinking people, our confidence of our self and our belief of self increases. The sense of belonging and being able to make a difference rises. We feel whole again.

Forth Step (Little finger/ Twinky): Enjoy your life
Be careful of your finances, there is no friend in the world who would willingly give up their finances for you. You are the controller of your choice. Enjoy life within the means of your ability. If you don't have the finances to buy a product or service of your liking, at the moment. Then forsake it till you get to arrange for it. Do not get trapped by the greed or indulgence in credit card swiping. Learn from your mistakes of the past and make it a present occurrence.

Fifth Step (Thumb): If not of the steps above make any sense, go back to step one and start again. You have missed out something which still needs attention.

These 5 steps can be easily remembered in the fingers of your hand. Keep your understanding of yourself with you and look forward to keep improving yourself without any prejudice to yourself. There is a very little anyone can do for you if You don't want to do anything for yourself.

Past Present Future

A reason for our actions and our behaviours. Is this a question that ever pops in our minds?

We are groomed to be the mechanics in pointing fingers at everyone else but ourselves in blaming or sharing the reason for bad experiences in our lives. We ask god for answers, we ask friends or foes to be forgiven for their actions. At any time do we ask ourselves what is the reason or the root of the occurrences in our lives?

A philosophy on mankind prevailes, we are only what we think we are. There is no god, no creator, no life after death. We are just molecules of our own beliefs and there is no other creation.

To the said thought process, I have only one question to ask. How did we evolve from a molecule to a full grown human being? There are very few doctors or wise scientists or even google who have shared any answers that are worth recommending or reasonable.

The questions of the existence of a molecule are also slowly evolving. Where a particle in a molecule is being termed as, "The God Particle". Wonder where did come into a scientific particle?

I am yet to find a answer to what is the root of all sufferings in the world?

There are questions that have answers and problems that have solutions, it is up to the seeker to find the answer and interpret it in the best way possible. Is religion the cause of grief? Is envy the root of crime? Is greed the start of selfishness? Is the need of self financial success the need to make others poor?

So many questions that make our lives tense and create a sense of bewilderment to our existence. Why?

That's all the remains at the end, why? We walk without seeing where we are going. The path that is directed with hate, envy, greed, sloth, anger, lust and pride. If we were only able to relieve ourselves of this path and seek a clear and viable path. The opportunity for grief would not exist and there would not be a day of sadness in the life of the individual.

I have not been able to answer the question yet. Maybe you could help see the light. I have come across a theory of "Karma". To explain it simply, the seeds you sow are the fruits you reap. Just like a plant takes time to grow, the fruits of redemption or curse come at its own time. We are not aware of the happenings but nature and divine happenings are controlling our lives everyday. This is something one has to experience to be a part of the same thinking process.

Being in the karmic cycle, one understands the root of suffering in the world. Why would I be going through a bad phase when all of the world is having a good time? or are they really enjoying?

Karma has a history of your past and current lives, the seeds that you have sown have grown. If the seeds were planted in good soil, the fruits are cherished. If they were planted in bad soil, the fruits are definitely not liked or enjoyed. We then have to undergo a process of cleansing, a way to better the wrongs we have done and improve our life. The unfortunate part here is that religion teaches us to follow rituals and chants. To make ourselves beggars of mercy. But that is not what is to be done.

All we need to do, is to forget the past and create a happy present without any thought of the future. What this means is, to let go of our burdens and sins which we have created for ourselves and make way for a better today. While we create a happier today, our past slowly becomes a better memory adding to the good Karma in our lives.

About forgetting the thought of the future, without thinking about the circumstance, we do good deeds everyday. This leads to good karma added to our kitty to weigh out the bad karma we had sown in our past. The equation then becomes fairly simple, when we weigh our good deeds over our bad deeds, our present and our future suddenly shapes out better than we expect without the past influencing the fruits of our labour.

There was no need to follow rituals or chants, just the humble action in doing good without considering the circumstance of what the outcome will be. Thereby, giving the universe the opportunity to gift us with divine abundance.

To have, To Receive and To Get

In a day and age of having the best for yourself is a norm. People try different means and methods to have a get rich quick fix. We forget to live our lives in the quest to get rich and show our friends and family. To have the materialistic gains is what we have aimed our destiny.

I was made to believe the materialistic way of life is the place for all to be until I met Saraswati. She is a regular person without any hopes of making it big in the world with a simple understanding of life and the hurdles she faces.

I had to go to the outskirts of Mumbai on work and was waiting at a tea stall for the workers to come. While I was waiting, a lady came with a basket on her head and a baby in her arms. She asked the tea stall lady to help her get the basket down and lay it on the ground.

She went ahead to arrange the basket laden with toys and women's accessories. She was preparing herself sell her goods in the village near by. I was sitting and observing her as she did her work.

As she was getting her basket ready, her daughter, 1 year 5 months young, lay on her lap and slept soundly. She kept to her work of readying the basket and also caring for her daughter. It was a sight to see, how she was making an effort to earn her livelihood. I was only amazed at the courage this lady was showing in the world of material craze with the simple products she kept in her basket to sell.

I approached her and asked her why she was doing so much to make a living. She could have easily stood on the streets like a beggar and made a lot more money. She looked at me with a smile and said, "Sahab, God has gifted me with everything I need to earn my living, why should I beg for my living?" I was shocked and awed by her courage. Her answer had made a dent in my belief that the world is getting worse by the day and humanity is a dying phenomenon. Her ability to live life without the need to have the abundance of money but to have the abundance of time with her child and family was truly mind changing.

Saraswati said, she works 5 hours every day except sunday, when her husband would get an off from work and the time would be spent with family on that day. She carries her baby everywhere she goes and does all the work to ensure her child gets a decent education, something she was not allowed to do since she was a girl. Saraswati was the youngest of three siblings and the only girl. Her brothers were educated and worked in the city, where as she was not sent to school beyond class 8th as her father didn't think it was a worthwhile investment.

Saraswati was not in the shadow of being dejected of depressed with the treatment meted out to her because of her sex. Her ability to stand up and earn her living was proof in itself, to show her strength to fight the world around her in a subtle but defined manner. She was a deity in her actions.

I listened with an open mouth and a head held high to her life and her living. Her mother in law and family were very strict and didnt allow her to move out too often. She had to make them known that she wanted to do it for her and her child's happiness. She said she was blessed with an understanding husband who supported her in her wants and needs of being independent.

I was truly blessed to be within the aura of such a person in my lifetime. A person who showcased strength and courage when the world around her was only trying to pull her down. May the world be blessed for having a person like Saraswati to have, to receive and to get what we deserve and not what we want.

Thoughts and Deeds

What you think is what you do!

How many times have we thought of something and it has happened differently?and how many times have we thought and it happened significantly similar.

I cannot imagine a world with no hope, no destiny, no thought. God has been our teacher, our motivator, our inspiration in many ways more than ever and yet we fail to understand his/ her teachings. We follow different paths to acknowledge him, some follow religions, some follow disciplines, some just appreciate him as the divine. There are so many names given to him that it would be less to mention.

And yet we are oblivious to the existence of a deeper power. In a recent interaction with a close friend, Christopher, who happens to be a very successful banker, we shared of our good times as children and as we grew up our destinies chose different paths of contentment. He went on to share that he did well because he dedicated his early years to the knowledge of the earth and the science around it. I on the other hand was more inclined towards the godly benefits of mankind and hence did not prosper as much as he did.

Surprisingly, my son, Rick came running to me and asked me to play ball with him in the backyard. He was insistent that I come and play as Christopher's son, Caldrin was not playing it right and he wanted to show him how to play it. We both made our way to the back yard and saw Christopher was catching the bat and staring at us with anger.

I asked him what was the matter and he was pointing fingers at Rick, saying he was not throwing the ball correctly. They were 5 years young, and were having their own interpretation of the game. Christopher and I looked at each other and gave a wryful smile. I made my way to where they were playing and followed the instructions of Rick. He was throwing the ball correctly and Christopher was not able to connect the ball to the bat. Christopher was almost immediate to shout and asked him to look at the ball and hit it. He did not move away from his comfort and share the comfort with Caldrin. Caldrin just looked at the ball and kept trying but was not able to connet it correctly, in disgust he threw the bat and started to walk away by banging his legs. His father only responded with more words of control and discipline.

I stared at him with an open mouth and did not know what to do. Rick came to me and asked why Christopher was shouting at Caldrin, he only wanted to help him. I had to make my stand clear to Christopher, shouting at children do not make them stronger it makes them weaker. I moved to Caldrin and warmed him with some kind words of praise and comfort. I offered to show him how to hit the ball, he was more than glad to try it with me.

I guided him to hold the bat and I held his hand to firm his grip on the bath, Rick went on to throw some balls at us and I asked him to pitch it slowly. We connected the ball to the bat and he was able to hit it well.

He went on to better it as the number of balls repeated itself and Rick was also delighted on his achievement.

Christopher was joyful on seeing the change in his son and patted him when he was done with batting. He retorted how important it was to concentrate on the ball and not to wander his mind. Caldrin just looked and him and looked away.

I had to explain to Chris that money could not buy him the respect of his son or let alone allow some respect towards him. He needed to spend time with his son and relate to his emotions and feelings with kindness. Formal education gives you the knowledge of everything else but of the self. There is a need to have the clear thoughts for it to manifest into better deeds.

His shouting and screaming was not going to help Caldrin in becoming a better human being, he would be just another robot of the worldly pleasures and becomings.

It is what we groom our children to be for a better tomorrow. No need in earning the millions of dollars when you are penniless in emotions.

God lives in us....

The creator named in different formats of God, Bhagwan, Allah, Yahweh, Elohim, Jehovah, Waheguru, Nirankar, etc. are good for the whole world to worship their deity and be one in spirit. No faith has ever entrusted a human to steal, hurt or take the life of his/her neighbours. There is only love and peace professed by each faith.

I take my strength from the word of god and profess it into my daily life, why then should I bow down to the hate mongers or the liars who are now doing well but eventually suffer for their misdeeds. There are many ways for me to be in the path of the light and see the way forward. The books of god, the Bible, the Quran, the Vedas, the Hebrew Bible, the Buddhist texts, the Jain Agamas, etc. have words that create a path for each of us to walk on. Having read a combination of the scriptures from different faiths, one would come to realise the coincidence in the words used to describe the same parable of humility and brotherhood. The language maybe different but there is definitely a common point where all of them meet.

The beauty of religion is that it was never meant to be religion but a way of life. A style, a code, an ethic of living. It was taught to over come the evils that society of the time had cuddled against its chest. There was no love in the hearts of the humans that existed. Strength and power were the only way to show case the dominance of the weak. Sharing, caring, love, were words of the weak. The wealthy and the rich would feed on the ignorance and stupidity of the poor.

Not that much has changed in todays times, but diplomacy has painted a new face on the wicked and made them look good as well. There are still the evil lords of earth who tread without the fear of hurting others and ensuring that their will be done.

But in all of this, there is always the remembrance of the good deeds and the change that the world is slowly moving towards a world with no boundaries. A world with no religion, a world with no caste, no creed, no colour of the skin to differentiate the beings from each other.

God in his own abundance, is clearing the path of life in different languages and bringing about a change in a way that we would not be imagining. The end of days for evil to exist is dawning soon, and who knows you may be the angel of change who may just be the last to nail it to its grave. For god lives in us!!!

Who Am I?

The ceiling seems like a painting of pictures and moving images that keep floating in front of me.

It is not the ceiling which is showing me the images but my mind that is wandering in the garden of its thoughts and bringing back the memories that were created from the depths of my past.

Its been a long wait to receive the answer to my question. Who am I?

I have been asking myself this question for a very long time and can't remember when this urge started. I am a successful professional and am developing my skills as I move along in life. BUT who am I?

I have been given a name, a status in society, a family to look after, a love to cherish and everything that one needs in this materialistic world to exist. But who am I?

There must be a sense of purpose to our existence, to why we were born on this planet. The understanding of our purpose is still undefined. There are different modalities and courses that one can follow but do they really have the answer to my question, who am I?

I cannot really figure it out, is there a destiny to be fulfilled? Is there a path to be found? Is there a purpose at all? Am I supposed to do something? I do not know.

I live the unanswered question and walk without a sense of purpose. The job, the work, the family love and tenderness, the friends and associates, the meetings and greetings, why are we living a life to have nothing at the end; or is there something at the end?

Science can never cheat death, Money can never render comfort, Knowledge is limitless, Understanding is misunderstood. Time is used to measure a person and not the day, Money defines your status in society and not your ability to live, skills are defined by the work you can share with others and not what you can do for your self.

Everything around me speaks of things that are external to myself. There is never a syllabus or a teaching of understanding the self, learning about me, knowing the feelings and emotions that I carry.

No government or legislation, no corporate or business house, ever looks to sell you products or services that can help you grow personally. It is always to look, feel, understand and appreciate the other person.

I still have the question, who am I? What is my purpose? Why am I here?

Do you?

The answer lies in asking ourselves questions about the past that we experienced. The learnings we took from the good and bad experiences we had, did we learn from them or sit brooding over an experience that has no possibility of a change?

The struggle of life is not with the problem but the solution.

We choose to live in the problem for as long as we can and never figure a solution to the problem. Let me cite it with an example of your understanding. We had an experience of someone hurting us emotionally or physically. Did we choose to sit and cry and contemplate ways of returning the hurt and pain without really acting over it?

The truth is we do not have to focus on the revenge but to see what was the reason for the incident to occur with the "I". How could you improve yourself such that there is a better lead into the process the next time it occurs. This will lead you to understand yourself better.

This is the first step to truly understanding what you are good at and what you need to work on to make yourself better and stronger.

The rest unfolds itself as you keep asking and questioning your reactions to each situation.
